You know those people that are a straight-up ache in your lower back? Dragging you down by your laces and poking all the bad vibes like they're getting paid for it. I have several of them. Not to objectify them or anything but there is this sort of default setting to language that makes it difficult to talk about people and relations without a sense of possession. The English language specifically makes it extremely easy to see things through the scope of ownership. Enough with the commonalities with language and inlaid definition though, there's a story to tell.
Today is my brother's birthday! We celebrated yesterday and it was no short of a grand time. He can be quite the bugger at times but who better to love. I feel like I spent the entire day eating from restaurant to restaurant though. My fridge is so filled with leftovers it almost mirrors my tummy after dinner! I do much like food. It's the best gift anyone could possibly receive. Think about it. Life, in it's fullness-for any creature including the ones the call your body home-revolves around the perpetual consumption of food. I mean if there was a rule book to life, number one would definitely be "EAT." The point her being, my love is warranted!
Do you ever daydream and become so enamoured by whatever you're thinking about that you physically move your body. Enough that someone notices and thinks, "Hmm, I wonder what they're thinking about!" Well today in class, the teacher was giving her usual spiel and I got so distracted I began to think about words and how everything she was saying could be turned in to a film and taught by a movie. Ridiculous I know, but I was suddenly stricken by a light sense of synergy. The all-at-once realization that in many years my seating, movement and effects in this class, will not change the progression of matter. One day the class would be empty for good and maybe become something completely different. I mean I could have been sitting where the leaders of the future New World Coalition would be drinking coffee and making jet-pack jokes. I thought so hard I could almost see the flags of future countries and unions, and taste the Starbucks-Caribou blended future late. My investment began to show on my face and the imaginary espresso probably contributed to the sudden jerk in my shoulder I suffered later. It wasn't too extreme but it was enough that my buddy turned and shot me the expected "Hmm, I wonder what you're thinking about!" face. This is probably one of the most glamorized goofing off in class moments but in truth it was definitely an uncommon experience. What if where I sit right now IS the pivotal meeting place for conquerors and politicians in 3050 AD. Or maybe just a latrine for post-civilization savages. Either way, I had a fun time contemplating it and I hope you do too!
Thank you
